About this exam family

A distressed business can report a profit and still miss payroll. It can own valuable assets yet lack permission to use their cash proceeds. A workable turnaround therefore depends on reading financial statements, forecasting liquidity, understanding legal constraints and making operational choices in the right order. TMA’s U.S. CTP and CTA pathways share three separate examinations: Accounting and Finance, Legal Principles, and Management. Each has 100 multiple-choice questions; the first two allow 150 minutes each, and Management allows 180 minutes. This guide develops the decisions behind those subjects through connected business problems. You will trace where cash went, compare recovery paths, identify when counsel or court authorization is needed, and test whether a proposed operating plan can fund itself.
